이기용 | Kiyong Lee

​

2017년 홍익대학교 조형대학 프로덕트 디자인 전공을 졸업 하였으며, 학부 과정에서 만난 조준익, 김예진, 박윤 디자이너와 함께 Craft Combine 디자인 스튜디오를 2014년도에 설립하여 현재 공동으로 운영하고 있다.

2014 - 2015년 동안 KIDP(Korea Institute Of Design Promotion)에서 진행하는 Korea Design Membership에 선정되어 국내외에서 다수의 실험적인 디자인 프로젝트를 진행하였으며, 창업과 관련된 교육을 수료하였다.

디자인에 있어 소재들 마다 가지고 있는 이야기에 집중한다. 같은 소재라도 역사와 문화, 지역 등 맥락에 따라 가공 방식, 가치, 쓰임 등 본질이 다르게 해석된다. 단순히 보이는 이미지가 아니라  소재가 지닌 다양한 이야기를 이해하고 이를 활용하여 디자인을 전개하고 있다. 주로 리빙 관련 소품, 오브제, 가구, 조명 등 라이프스타일과 밀접한 제품들을 디자인하고 있다.

2017년 KCDF(Korea Craft & Design Foundation)에서 진행하는 공예디자인 스타상품 개발에 Craft Combine이 선정되었으며, 이를 통해 유리 오브제 브랜드인 clear b를 런칭하여 운영하고 있다.

 

서울과학기술대학교, 서울시립대학교, 공예디자인진흥원, 한국디자인진흥원, 코리아디자인멤버쉽, 시흥아카데미, 서울여성공예센터, 성남여성인력개발센터에서 강연 및 워크샵을 진행하기도 하였다.

Kiyong Lee graduated at Hongik University in a department of Product Design. He founded Craft Combine based in Seoul with the members of Junik Jo, Yejin Kim, and Yoon Park in 2014.

 

He was a member of KDM (Korea Design Membership) which is a program provided by KIDP (Korea Institute of Design Promotion) in 2014 - 2015. In this program, he did several experimental design projects and was trained in how to establish and lead a start-up design studio.

 

He focuses on the stories that each material has in design. Even in the same material, the essence of processing method, value, and utilization is interpreted differently depending on the context of history, culture, and region. He understands not only the image that is shown, but the various stories of the material, and uses this to develop the design. He designs lifestyle-related products such as living goods, objects, furniture, lightings and so on.

 

Craft Combine was selected for the development of craft design star products in KCDF (Korea Craft & Design Foundation) in 2017, and clear b, a glass object brand, has been launched and operated.

 

He also gave lectures and held workshops at Seoul National University of Science and Technology, University of Seoul, Korea Craft and Design Foundation, Korea Institute of Design Promotion, Korea Design Membership, Siheung Academy and Seongnam Women Workforce Development Center.
